In collaboration with a forward-looking research partner, we contributed to the research, development, and fabrication of advanced polymer membrane filters—a key technology in the future of clean water, bioprocessing, and industrial filtration systems.
Engineering Breakthroughs in Filtration Science
This project required more than just technical skill; it demanded scientific creativity and a systems-level approach to material performance. The goal was to develop a cost-effective polymer membrane with high selectivity, permeability, and resistance to fouling—critical attributes for long-term application in water and wastewater treatment systems.
Working from lab-scale design to fabrication, CGESS supported the full life cycle of membrane development:
Conducted material analysis and polymer blending trials to determine optimal formulations for micro- and nano-scale filtration.
Engineered and assembled a custom lab-scale fabrication line, including casting, drying, and crosslinking systems for controlled pore structure development.
Designed experimental filtration setups to test mechanical durability, rejection rates, flow rates, and chemical compatibility under real-world stress conditions.
Led data analysis and iterative design improvements, contributing to a working prototype that met performance targets.
